Ethernet Connection : Technical Support

Hi Im considering a ODE MK3...but not sure how it would connect up to my system. At the moment I run 2 x USB cables. one USB cable to send MIDI info from my Clicktrack unit (uTrack) into the LapTop into EMU and the other from the Laptop to my Ethic interface (DMX data). If I go for the ODE MK3, would I be correct in assuming that I would still need to Use a USB to carry the MIDI info from the uTrack to the Laptop. But could go ethernet out of the LapTop to the ODE?

However, Would there be any way of sending the date To and from the Laptop using Ethernet only?

I assumed 8 universes support, new device which is EMU HW with footswitch, oscillation library, maybe something else I don't remember - that was a big update, don't you think so? What was your expectation (or maybe insight?)
