In the past, we have come across a customer raising concern related to ELM video playback not syncing with the actual video being played. Here is the content of that email:

Hi,

I have an important issue with ELM. Everything worked seamlessly until I tried to synchronise ELM with other hardware ( a video player ).

Here is my issue: ELM playback speed is not accurate at all. I load a custom media on my stage, then play it at 1.0x speed and see that it's not real time. When loading the media monitor, I see that the live play speed is not the same than the monitor....
And playing the same media on a reliable source, I can see that timecode is drifting through time

I tried to transcode the media but that did not help.

Any help?

When we asked the customer to share his setting, and this is what he has:

By default, Master Speed, Stage Speed and Media Speed are set to 1, if this has been changed or upon importing the video clip, has a different setting, it is imperative that these settings are met: master speed, stage speed and media speed are all set to 1if this are not set, you might get a result close to 1 but not exactly 1 and this would manifest video ending earlier or longer than what is being uploaded in ELM, to set this values to 1, simply double click the blue bar next to them and it should reset to exactly 1. Here is a correction that fixes that customer's issue:

Note:

Speed 1 doesn't necessarily mean the speed of the playback is 1, this is ELM settings that corresponds to a specific value based on the video clip uploaded.
