What is an FTDI Driver?
All ENTTEC DMX USB use FTDI chips as part of their circuitry to communicate with a computer they’re connected to via USB.
“FTDI Drivers” are the system level services that ensure the FTDI chips inside ENTTEC products communicate as expected with a computer.
The drivers that ensure these products can be connected to any Windows. Mac or Linux operating system are managed and updated by FTDI, every so often when a change is made to an operating system, FTDI drivers may be updated (typically these are delivered behind the scenes as part of MacOS or Windows updates).
Our USB to DMX products are designed within the D2XX FTDI Driver framework, meaning that our products are reliable and compatible with the latest operating systems.
