EMU is free to download and use forever. There is no trial period, no expiry, no time limit. The free version is a permanent free version of the product.
What the free version gives you
- 1 universe of DMX output (512 channels)
- Generic fixture library
- Sound Tracker, LED Mapping, all core features
- Works with EMU Hardware Interface, DMX USB Pro, ODE MK3, and the legacy DMXIS breakout box
When you need Premium
Premium adds:
- Up to 32 universes of DMX output (16,384 channels) via Art-Net
- The full ENTTEC fixture library
- MIDI control and the VST3 plugin
- Extended features beyond the free tier
Premium is optional, and the usual reasons to upgrade are more than 1 universe (Art-Net) or the full ENTTEC fixture library. MIDI control and the full VST3 fader mapping are Premium too. For DMXIS users migrating to EMU
Your DMXIS hardware (1-universe USB box) works directly with EMU's free version. You are not being asked to start paying for replacement software. Just download EMU, plug in your DMXIS, and you're set, same 1-universe configuration, no cost.
Premium is only relevant if you want to expand beyond what DMXIS already gave you.
