This article explains how to reset the ENTTEC ODE Mk3 (70407) to factory defaults. There are two methods: a standard reset from the device's web interface, and a hard reset via boot mode for when the web interface is unreachable or the firmware is unstable.

What a factory reset restores
Resetting returns the ODE Mk3 to its out-of-the-box settings:

Any custom IP address, port configuration, universe assignments and merging rules are lost. Note down anything you need to restore before you begin.
Method 1: Reset from the web interface
Use this method when you can still reach the device's web page.
- Open the ODE Mk3 web interface in a browser by entering the device's IP address.
- Go to the Settings tab and find the Reset to Defaults command in the Save & Update row.
- Click Reset to Defaults. A confirmation pop-up appears; click OK to proceed.
- Allow up to 10 seconds for the device to reboot. When the page refreshes, the ODE Mk3 is ready with factory settings.
Method 2: Hard reset via boot mode
Use boot mode when the web interface is unreachable or the firmware is unstable, for example after a failed firmware update. This is the procedure shown in the video above.
- Wire up the DMX ports between Port 1 and Port 2, so the two ports are connected to each other.
- Connect the ODE Mk3 to a computer with an Ethernet cable. Both LEDs will flash at the same frequency, indicating the device is in boot mode.
- Launch the EMU software on your computer and select the ODE Mk3 it discovers. You can download EMU free from enttec.com.
- EMU will prompt you to access the boot page, where you can perform a factory reset or update the firmware.
Note: resetting through the boot page requires firmware V1.7 or later. If the device is on older firmware, use the boot page to update the firmware first. The latest firmware .bin file is available from the ODE Mk3 product page.
After the reset
The device comes back with DHCP enabled. If your network has a DHCP server, the ODE Mk3 will request an address from it; if not, it falls back to 192.168.0.10 with netmask 255.255.255.0. Set your computer to the same subnet (for example 192.168.0.x) to reach the web interface and reconfigure the device.
